Big Cats
By Carlie
Cats are very ferocious creatures, but they can also be very caring and playful. In this article we will talk about the more ferocious cats, also known as the wild cats, not the domestic cats that live with people. Wild cats are big with strong jaws and big paws. They prowl the savannah, forest, jungles, and mountains. The cats I’m talking about are the jaguar, the snow leopard, and the tiger. Three very big cats, all of them are different in one way or another. These cats are just a few of the biggest cats on earth.
Three Big Cats
Snow leopards have very thick coats of fluffy gray hair. On their gray fur they have dark gray blobs with black rings around them, these dots are all along the cat's body. These light colors help this cat blend into its natural habitat. They weigh from about 60 to 100 pounds. They grow to be about the size of a large dog. Their furry tails are almost as long as their body length. Their tails are used to balance themselves when leaping. Leopards are the smallest out of the big cats but they’re no house cats. Leopards can leap 20 feet.
Jaguar’s fur can be gold tan or black. Under its belly and chin the Jaguars have white fur. They have black spots, the spots on their backs look like stripes. Jaguars look like leopards but are bigger. They have extremely powerful muscles. This cat's legs are short and sturdy. Jaws of a jaguar are square and can bite through bone. The only cats bigger than a jaguar are the lions and tigers. Males can weigh up to 350 pounds, 125 pounds at the least. Females weigh 100 to 200 pounds. Jaguars are 4 to 6 feet long not including their tails,Their tails can be 18 to 30 inches long. Jaguars can leap 20 feet.
Most tigers are orange colored with vertical stripes on their bodies. This helps them blend into tall grasses. Only tigers out of all the big cats have stripes. No two markings are the same on tigers. They weigh from 200 pounds to 660 pounds, and can be 7 to 13 feet in body length. Cats cross breeding in captivity ends up in a half and half cat. Like the liger, a male lion and female tiger, or the tigon a male tiger and female lion. Large tigers can jump more than 30 feet.
Where they Live
The snow Leopards are found at altitudes between 9,800 and 17,000 feet in the high, rugged mountains of central Asia. They also habitat Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. China has the most snow leopards, China has 60% of the snow leopard population. Snow leopards usually live on mountains that are cold and dry.
Jaguars populate the American continents, they live in Texas, in the Cerro Colorado Mountains in Arizona, the southern part of California, and New Mexico, in the United States, and are found in rainforests in Central and South America. Most Jaguars live in the Amazon rainforest.
Jaguars prefer wet lowland habitats, like swampy savannas or tropical rainforests. Their most liked habitat is in the tropical forests. Jaguars also live in forests and grasslands, living near rivers and lakes, in small caves, marshland, and under rock ledges, they live in areas with shrubbery as well.
The Tigers are located in, Asia, Southeast Asia, China, Korea, Russia. Most tigers live in Asia.
Tigers usually live in habitats with Swamps, Grasslands, and rainforests. Tigers are located where there is trees, bushes, and clumps of tall grass.
Hunting
Snow leopards eat anything catchable usually animals three times bigger than themselves. A snow leopard's main food source is wild sheep and goats, pikas, hares, and game birds. In the summer they mostly hunt smaller prey like marmots. Jaguars eat deer, peccary, crocodiles, snakes, monkeys, deer, sloths, tapirs, turtles, eggs, frogs, fish and anything else they can catch. A jaguar is the third biggest living feline after the tiger and lion. Unlike other cats, jaguars are not afraid of water they are actually fond of it, so Jaguars can eat seafood. Tigers eat moose, deer species, pigs, cows, horses, buffaloes and goats. Tigers eat prey ranging in size from termites to elephant calves. A Tiger's main diet is eating prey weighing 20 kg or 45 Ibs. A tiger may stalk 20 animals, before it finally catches one. Tigers usually hunt larger prey.
Wild Cats are big and small and can even be tall. Cats are a work of nature so we should help to make sure they don’t go extinct. There are all different types and sizes of wild cats and their all different, no one is exactly the same. Cats can also be the same in some ways. Wild cats are hunters of the land and sometimes water. After reading this you have become experts on the striped tiger, the dotted Jaguar, and the spotted Snow Leopard.

Black Mambas
By Mikey Black Mambas A young black Mamba is slithering around looking for prey. As he’s looking for prey he see´s a mongoose. Mongoose are known to kill black Mambas. The Mamba slowly starts to slither away but in the corner of Mongoose’s eye he sees the black Mamba. The Mamba knows he’s been seen. The Mongoose starts to charge the young Mamba. The black Mamba acts quickly by moving to the side. The Mongoose misses the Mamba by a little bit. The Mamba starts to slither away. Since the Mambas can slither up to 14 miles per hour the Mamba manages to slip away. |

A Black Mamba’s diet The way a black Mamba kills its prey is by striking it then retreating and waiting for the venom to kick in. For humans it takes about 20 minutes to kill you, but for smaller creatures the time span is shorter because their bodies are smaller than ours. The small creatures that Black Mambas eat are rats, mice, birds, chicken, bats, and bushbabies. Black Mambas also eat other snakes as well. Black Mamba mating When two Black Mambas mate, the female finds a place to put the eggs until they hatch. The place where the female puts the eggs, like a hole, needs to be damp and warm. It can’t be too wet or hot. Then the female leaves the eggs. It takes three months for them to hatch. Black Mambas predators The most common predator to a Black Mamba is a Mongoose. Some of the other predators are big birds, foxes, and jackals. The key to catching a Black Mamba is to have stealth, speed, and to making the right decision, and finding the right time to strike. Some animals stock the Black Mamba for days sometimes even weeks just waiting to strike at the right time. Black Mamba habitats and where they live The Black Mamba lives in the Sub-Saharan Africa. Their habitats are usually in trees, holes, swamps, forests, and woods. If another animal comes on their territory they might attack if they feel threatened. I hope you learned a lot about Black Mambas. I also hoped you liked learning about Mambas. Now that you read this informational text, you know what to do when you see a Mamba. References |

Cat History
The history of cats starts 4,000 years ago in ancient Egypt 200 B.C.E. Cats also became popular in Japan and India and only the rich owned them and the breeds like Siamese and Burmese started popping up. In 1348 in Europe cats were blamed for the Black Death and rulers ordered the killing of all cats. Cats traveled to America on cargo ships and killed mice and rats they were favored by the sailors and when they reached America the American shorthair popped up. Cats today are loved by many.
Cat Breeds
There are 56 different types of cat breeds some have a lot of energy, some talk more than others, some have longer coats than other types of cat breeds . All types of cat breeds have a classification and they are hairless, shorthair, medium, and long hair. The most popular cats are rated from 1-4 and the exotic breed came in first, persian in second, mane coon in third , and the ragdoll in forth. The most unique cats are the American curl, Cornish rex, and Devon rex.
How to Take Care of Your Cat’s Coat
There are many different types of cat breeds so they all have different needs. Long hair cat’s need to be brushed out daily to make sure there are no tangles or knots so you’re cat's coat stays nice and luxurious. To take care of a cat with a medium coat is just a quick brush once a week . short hair cats only need a brushing once a month. Hairless cats need a sunscreen wipe when it's really sunny try to keep out of light so it won't get sunburned keep blankets around because they don't have fur so it's hard for them to keep warm so buy cat sweaters for your hairless cat, hairless cats are the hardest to take care of.
How to Take Care of a Cat
For all cats you need to choose food like dry or wet. Then choose a brand like friskies or blue and don't over feed. Overfeeding can lead to liver and kidney problems in your cat. Make sure your cat plays enough before it eats so it will not run around at night and keep you up. The cat will sleep when she is done eating. Wild cats hunted and caught which is simulated by play, eat the food then sleep, they will still run around at 6:00 but you will probably be eating breakfast.

Grizzly Bears
By Andrew
Have you ever wondered what a Grizzly’s full weight is? Can they be domesticated? What was their ancestor? This page will give answers to these and many other questions about North America's largest predator. Some of the facts include the mating habits, diet, and habitat.
A Grizzly's Diet
Grizzly bear diets is 80% to 90% vegetation which includes blackberries, dandelions, grasses and hedges, clover, cow parsnip, and many other plants. The remaining 20% or 10% is meat such as deer, moose, bison, salmon, trout, and sometimes they eat the dead carcases of beached whales (blue, humpback, and right) . It eats 90 pounds of food every day all summer, spring, and fall.

Mating and Cubs
The mating season is May-July, but peak is mid June. Females give birth to cubs in cave in late winter. She usually gives birth to 2-3 cubs a year. Cubs will stay with mother for 4 years. Males often kill other males cubs to stop the other males gene. Females often give up a formidable fight towards the other male.
Ancestor, Latin/ Other Names,Lifespan, and Other Facts
The grizzly bears ancestor was Ursava eleminis. It stood on 4 ft legs and was the most feared predator until grizzly bears came 2,000,000 years ago. The Latin name is ursus arctos. They often live up to 20-25 years in the wild and captivity. Males are known as boars and females are known as sows. Females are 700 lb and males are 1700 lb. Strong enough to drag away a horse. It sleeps for five months while hibernating. They can run at an amazing 35 mph. Known as kodiak or brown bear. Have better sense of smell than a hound dog. It will eat almost anything. They Have 10 cm, non retractable claws, and 8 in canines. They are also endangered.
I hope you now see that these animals are more complicated than most people think. This page has given you all of the latest info on grizzlys. Let’s hope these beasts are here for many generations to come and that they migrate back to their natural habitat.

Kangaroos
By Jacob
What can kangaroos do? Kangaroos can do many things. But in this document I am going to tell you about some of the things they can do. I am going to be telling you about how they travel, what they eat, baby kangaroos, and if they are endangered or not.
Kangaroos Traveling
Kangaroos strong muscles and tendons in their legs allow them to jump 25-30 ft (9 meters) in one jump. They also don’t walk on all four legs unless they are swimming. Hopping uses less energy than running on all four legs like other animals do.They can travel 30 miles (48 kilometers) per hour. They are also usually taller than 6 ft.
Kangaroos Endangerment
Kangaroos are not endangered, they are the least concerned to become extinct. In 2010 there were 25.1 million kangaroos living in Australia. A year later in 2011 there were 34.3 million kangaroos living in Australia. They were 9.2 million more kangaroos in one year! Kangaroos usually live from 6 to 8 years.
Baby Kangaroos
Baby kangaroos are called “Joeys”. When kangaroos are born they are about the size of a grape. They’re also the most helpless mammal babies in the world. They stay in their mother’s pouch until they are around 10 months old.
What Do Kangaroos Eat?
Now you know what kangaroos eat, how they get around, them as a baby, and that they aren’t endangered. They can do and have many more things to learn about but these are the main categories for what I found.

Koalas
By Adam
Koalas have many awesome qualities. Did you know koalas sleep up to 18-20 hours a day. That is almost all day and night. Koalas live in southern and eastern Australia in the towering eucalyptus tree forest all over Australia. Koalas use their long barbed claws to stay far up in the trees to stay away from predators when they sleep and to protect themselves. When koalas aren't sleeping they are eating eucalyptus leaves from the trees. About two pounds a day! Humans eat twice as much food as koalas do in one day!
What they Eat
Koalas don't drink much water they get most of their moisture from the eucalyptus leaves. Koalas also have pouches in their cheeks so they can put leaves in there. Only a few other animals have that special feature. Something a koala does before eating it sniffs the leaves to make sure it is just right to eat. Eucalyptus leaves are poisonous to most other animals but koalas seem to digest them well. Koalas chew their food into paste before swallowing. Imagine collecting two pounds of leaves and putting it in a pile. That is how much a koala eats a day.
Size and Weight
Koalas are mammals, they are also herbivores. They can live up to 20 years old. A koala's average size is up to 23.5 inches long to 33.5 inches long. They weigh up to 20 lbs a human weighs about nine times heavier.
Marsupials
Did you know that koalas aren’t bears they are marsupials. Marsupials are animals with pouches. Baby koalas stay in their mother's pouch until they're old enough to come out and grasp their mother's back while she climbs trees. Marsupials are mostly found in Australia, but not only Austrailia. They also live in Queensland and Victoria.
Now you know what koalas eat, how big they are, and what they are, marsupials. There is still a lot more to learn about koalas. Koalas are one of my favorite animals. They are one of my favorite animals because they have many cool qualities.

Wolves
By Ella
Wolves. When you think of a wolf you probably think about them howling to the moon or living in the cold. Now think for a second. What are wolves? Are they related to my dog? Why do they howl to the moon? If you want the answers to your questions keep reading…
Still reading? Awesome! Well now that you're here I might as well tell you how this is going to work. I'm going to talk about the types of wolves that you are going to learn about. Just so you know, I'm going in alphabetical order.
Still reading? Awesome! Well now that you're here I might as well tell you how this is going to work. I'm going to talk about the types of wolves that you are going to learn about. Just so you know, I'm going in alphabetical order.
A: Arabian wolf:
The Arabian wolf eats carrion or rodents. They have big ears, natural yellow eyes and tan fur. The arabian wolf stands 2ft and 2 inches high only weighing about 40 pounds which is the average weight of a five year old. The Arabian wolf is a subspecies of the gray wolf and is the smallest of the wolf family. Packs will be up to 4 and have 2-3 pups every 2 years. Unlike the other wolves this wolf doesn’t doesn’t howl
A: Arctic wolf :
The arctic wolf lives in the northern hemisphere along the arctic , Alaska , Canada and even North Europe. The Arctic wolf lives in the cold, as well as spend half the year in the dark. The Arctic wolf eats rodents, carrion or on occasion may be able to take down an ox. Surprisingly the arctic wolf does live in packs up to 4. They do live together but they hunt to themselves unless their is little food then they will team together as a pack and kill bigger and more dangerous prey. Pups are born in May or June and stay in their dens for the first four months until their coats are completely grown. The arctic wolf in the winter has a pure white coat, no other wolf in the world has a coat as pure as the arctic wolf. They have two layers of fur one is waterproof to keep water and snow out and the second layer is for extra warmth. The Arctic wolf lives 7-10 years and weighs 75-125 pounds. - Out of all the wolves the arctic wolf is one of my favorites.
E: Ethiopian wolf:
The Ethiopian wolf lives in africa. The Ethiopian wolf eats carrion or insects and is highly social having pack 2-3. People once thought that the Ethiopian wolf was a jackal but father evidence shows that they are wolves. Sadly the Ethiopian wolf is known to have rabies and now because of that is legally allowed to be killed. Today the Ethiopian wolf is one of the rarest animals in the world and only five hundred are known to still be alive. - I always feel bad for the Ethiopian wolf, I mean is not their fault they get sick:( Hopefully one day they come up with some type of cure for their rabies.
E: Eurasian wolf:
The Eurasian wolf lives in Central Asia and eats deer, boar and to annoy farmers they will eat livestock. The Eurasian wolf is very social but does not live in packs. They have 6-7 pups and have thin various color fur.
G: Great Plains Wolf:
The Great Plains wolf also known as the Buffalo wolf lives in the Northern USA as well as Canada. The Buffalo Wolf eats birds, beavers and even rodents. They are normally grey, black or red and weigh 60-110 pounds.

G:Gray Wolf:
the Gray Wolf lives in Alaska, the great lake regions, and in the Rockie mountain range. They eat caribou, moose, deer, elk and other rodents. Packs range from 4-15 and pups are born in early to late spring. The Gray Wolf is obviously normally grey and is the largest species of wolf. The gary wolf has survived the ice age and is extremely adaptable.
I: iberian Wolf :
the Iberian wolf lives throughout Portugal and Spain and gets its name from the word “Marked.” They eat deer, boar and livestock. The Iberian Wolf have 5-6 pups every other year and has red or grey fur.
I: Indian Wolf:
The Indian wolf lives in India (duh)and is a pure bred that is now seen as its own species. Sadly the indian Wolf's favorite food is livestock. 3-5 pups are born and full growns have red fur, and weigh 40-60 pounds.
I:Italian Wolf:
The Italian Wolf lives in the apennine mountains and also has pure blood lines similar to the Indian wolf who is not a subspecies but its own. They eat rodents, carrion, livestock and even garbage. the Italian Wolf has grey to brown and weighs 55-85 pounds.
R: Red Wolf:
The Red Wolf lives in southern united states and eats rodents. In spring they have 2-8 pups and have red fur.
R: Russian Wolf:
They live in Russia and are killed daily to keep their numbers down, they have very short hair and are more aggressive.
T: Tundra Wolf:
The Tundra Wolf lives on the tundra and has very thick fur. They eat moose, caribou, and bison. The tundra wolf has 2-6 pups and has dark grey fur. They live 10-16 years and weigh 100-125 pounds.
Wolves are wonderful creatures who deserve more, all the species of wolves except for one are endangered and need help, lots of this is caused by habitat damage and being hunted because of their beautiful coats. While I was researching I had never realized how little wolves are left on this planet. But thankfully the wolf numbers are slowly rising within most species and are making a slow progress upward so let's keep going and save wolves!!

Dogs are great friends to have and they are playful. A dog is like an actor. Turn of the television and watch them. A dog can tell you when they want you to hold their paw or when to pet them.
The History of Dogs
Dogs are relatives to wolves. Wolves were the first animal that humans started to feed on purpose. Humans have been taking care of dogs since 13,000 B.C.E. during the stone age and they also have been taking care of dogs before farming. How it started was that dogs (wolves) started to hang around campsites and people would feed them.
Jobs for a dog
Dogs also have jobs which are very important. They can be trained to do special things like helping people who can’t see or hear. They can also be helpful when it comes to army work. Elephants
By Claire
Do you really know what an elephant is? They are the largest land mammals on earth, and herbivores. Elephants may look very different than us but they really aren’t as alien as we might think.
Different Groups
Elephants stay in different groups like families. Cows (female elephants) and calves (baby elephants) stay together, but bulls (boy elephants) live in their own groups. Now before you think the boy calves are kicked out of their group with their moms they are not. Bulls stay with their mom’s group until they are ten years old.
Mommy to the Rescue
Baby elephants don’t have to worry if they get in trouble because they have their mom! Babies stay protected from danger when they stay between their mother's legs. But they aren’t just protected by their mother, cow groups are all very close and are related. So if a baby gets into any trouble or danger a family member will also come if needed.
Nose/Hand
Did you know that an elephant's trunk is really a hand and a nose? A trunk is for smelling, breathing, trumpeting. Trunks are not their mouths though, it’s more like a straw connected to their face. Trunks can pick up almost anything because of the two bumps on the end of their trunks that are like fingers. They can also suck up water and squirt it into their mouths. Trunks can be a weapon too, they can be used to knock a predator out!
Teeth
Guess how many sets of teeth elephants have? The answer is six! Unlike humans, who have two sets of teeth, elephants have four more sets than we do. When elephants wear out the old ones, new ones appear. But when they lose their last set of teeth when they are about 60 years old they die of starvation. Did you know an elephant doesn’t eat food like we do? They first put the food in its mouth and grind the food back and forth on its four molars.
Family
Groups of cows are much like a very close human family. Who might be in charge? The grandma is in charge and is called the matriarch. While the matriarch takes care of the entire group, the others take care of the babies. Baby elephants are very important to cows but not very important with their fathers. An elephant takes 22 months to be born. After a birth, the group will wait until the baby can walk and then they will start moving again. A baby elephant needs to be touched by their mother or another cow ever so often. But not only the mothers take care of the little ones, aunts and older cousins will take care of the calves when their mom needs or wants a break.
Ears
Did you know there are two different kinds of elephants? One is the African elephant and the other is the Asian elephant.
Asian- Asian elephants have smaller ears than the African elephants. This is because Asia has more forest than savanna. Though that doesn’t mean that it is cool. Because of their small ears Asian elephants don’t have as much of a fan.
African-African elephants have bigger ears than Asian elephants. Africa is mostly savanna and not a lot of forest.Because of their big ears they can fan themselves more and keep themselves cooler.

Elephants of the Past
Scientists believe that 50 million years ago elephants were living by where Egypt is today.Though they were the size of hogs and didn’t look like what we call elephants today either. There are many other interesting elephant like animals but here is one you might know, the mammoth. Mammoths were furry elephants. Mammoth means very big. Mammoths looked like really big elephants. Though they died out many years ago with the dinosaurs. Mammoths were alive during the ice age.
Tusks
African elephant’s tusks can weigh as much as you do! If you see an elephant it might have one tusk shorter than the other. This is because the elephant has used that tusk more. Like if you are a lefty or a righty!
Endangered-Elephants tusks are made of ivory which is endangering the elephants. Many places are saying it is illegal to hunt elephants for the ivory. Poachers take the tusks and leave the elephants. Unless this stops the elephants will become extinct.
Conclusion
In conclusion, elephants are very important and are sort of like humans. Elephants are the largest land mammals that walk the earth. Many parts of elephants are big; their ears, tusks, and family. They travel in groups of cows with calves and bulls with other bulls. Elephants live in africa or asia. African elephants and asian elephants may look different from each other, but they still live close to the same thing. Hopefully now you really do know what an elephant is.

Great White Sharks
By Colin W.
As a Golden Flanked Great White Shark moves smoothly with its powerful tail along the coast of Mexico, it searches for a carnivorous snack. When is sees the prey it dives down almost to the bottom of the sunlight zone where it mostly feast around. Then it bolts back up ripping the flesh off with its powerful jaws. Golden Flanked Great White Sharks are amazing creatures to study about they have so many interesting things about their characteristic.
Look: Something that is important is how they were named the shark they are called to be the Golden Flanked Great White Shark. They are called the Golden Flanked Great White Shark because golden means it is the King of the Sea It is the largest predatory fish on earth. When you look at the snout it much pointier than other sharks. They have slate-gray upper bodies to blend in with the coastal sea floor and a white underbelly.
Diet: These sharks are predatory carnivores which means they eat meat. They eat fish, squid, sea turtles, dead dolphins, fur seals, elephant seals, and any other seal. The big things they eat are dead whales. how they attack their prey is they go underwater and dive up to the surface and rip the flesh as it does that it rolls its eyes back shielding from the thrashing of the water.
Teeth: Great Whites have several rows of teeth. If one tooth falls out another one takes its place. The teeth are about 2 to 2½ inches high and have saw-like ridges and a really strong mouth.
Growth: Their lifespan is about 30 years. They grow up to an average of 15 feet in length though some exceeding 20 feet and weighing up to 2,400 pounds. The females grow much bigger than the males do. Males grow up to 11-13 feet while females grow up to 15-21 feet.

Fun Facts:
- Group name: Is called a School or Shoal (meaning a large number of them)
- Protection Status: Endangered
- These Sharks must keep swimming in order to breathe.
- They can detect one drop of blood in 25 gallons and can sense even tiny amounts of blood in the water up to 3 miles away.
- White sharks are primarily visual hunters, which would normally allow them to correctly distinguish you from their preferred prey species. Therefore, avoid entering the ocean when it is murky, during darkness or twilight hours when sharks rely on their other senses to locate potential prey rather than their vision.
- When encountering a white shark remain as calm as you can. Assess the situation. Do not panic! Panicked, erratic movements are likely to increase the shark’s curiosity, draw it closer to you and possibly send signals similar to an injured or distressed prey. Use any equipment (camera, surfboard, etc.) you may be carrying to create a barrier between yourself and the shark.
- If you see a shark, calmly alert other ocean users around you. Remain in or create a group, and leave the water in a calm and swift, but smooth, manner. Alert the lifeguards or shark spotters.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels
By Lacey
The Cavalier king charles spaniel was from Toy Spaniels. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels is a fairly new breed. They got their name from King Charles the second. The breed is very small but not Chihuahua size. The color names of this breed are Black,Tan,Tricolor,Ruby, and Blenheim. The weight of this dog is 13 pounds to 18 pounds medium size. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is very Sweet Hearted and loves to play but it does not need a lot of room like a mansion they prefer small spaces like apartments. The breed is very easy to train but do not yell at them or they will get scared and hide in a corner most likely. This breed is a bit easy to find in shelters, online, and other stores where you can get pet supplies.
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has no special markings. King Charles the second was known as the Cavalier King. He had many Cavalier King Charles Spaniels about him. Queen Victoria had a Tricolor CKCS “Cavalier King Charles Spaniel” named Dash. Dash sadly passed away on December 20,1840 at age 9. Mickey Rooney had a very cute Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Sir.Digby and here is some words from Mickey Rooney and her family “No matter how hectic life gets we know that when we get home our precious little companion is there with loving eyes waiting for us.”
How do you take care of your Cavalier King Charles Spaniel? You have to give it a bath at least once or twice a month. You also need to brush the dog a lot because this dog sheds very much and there could be hair all over your house. When you bathe your spaniel be very easy on it's back, shoulders, and Knees because you could push it down and hurt it. This type of breed has a lot of health problems like heart problems and knee dislocations.
The cavalier king charles spaniel needs a lot of exercise and water the dog does not do well in hot temperatures because of its long coat. Many people like this breed because it is very cute and the way it is very warm and Sweethearted.
This breed is good for starter dog owners and people who loves lap dogs. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a very popular breed because they are also quite rare. When they grow up to an adult they probably will get less playful and won’t come up on your lap as much as when they were young because they have less energy or are grumpy. The breed will still love you because you probably saved them or care for them a lot. Sometimes when this breed is grumpy it is best to leave it alone or let it rest a little bit. Don’t give this breed to much food or it will have hip problems and I mean bad ones. When this breed starts to pant a little bit on walks you should pick it up and take your little companion home and give it some love or a cold bath and water that is very cold. Then you need to give it lots and lots of love and attention When these dog's start to not eat at all take them to the vet and tell your doctor that my cavalier king charles spaniel won’t eat his or her food. This breed can live up to 9-15 years of life. This breed is very special and needs to be taken care of and watched very closely and never ever let them off of a leash because they will run away and probably won’t come back because they are probably chasing their prey such as squirrels, birds, raccoons, foxes, mice, rats, and other people’s cats
You will want to put a huge fence around your place and these dog's are liking the water a lot because of their long fur. I love this breed when it is a puppy because they are small and soft.

Giraffes
By Nathalie
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be 19 feet tall? This article is about Giraffes and it has a lot of facts that you might not have known about. Some you might think are weird and some interesting.
Giraffes grow up to 19 feet tall. The shortest adult giraffe is about 14 feet tall. The Giraffe's height is very important for eating because they're main food source is the acacia leave which is found in a tall species of trees. There height is also very important for watching for predators, predators like lions, crocodiles and leopards tend to go for the giraffes calves and legs . Being tall makes it harder to drink water from watering holes. Giraffes weigh up to 3,000 pounds. Newborn or baby giraffes are usually the height of a full grown male human or a little taller.
Their closest relative is an okapi bear. An okapi bear has features and looks like it is related to zebras but it is not, it is related to the giraffe. The giraffe’s sleeping requirement is between ten minutes and two hours. Giraffes have tails with big bunches of hair at the end of them, they use their tails to brush off insects. The body of a giraffe is covered with really smooth fur. A giraffe’s foot is usually the size of a dinner plate. The eye of a giraffe is about the size of a golf ball. Giraffes are able to moo, hiss, roar and whistle. A giraffe is an herbivore and it has a lifespan of about 25 years.
Giraffes live in savannahs, grasslands and open woods. Their tongues are very long, they are a little longer than a ruler. A giraffe tongue is dark in color and is adapted for them to eat on trees like the acacias which is very thorny and other trees that other animals would most likely avoid. It is possible for female giraffes to get pregnant at five years old, then they carry the baby for 15 months and give birth while standing up. Sometimes male giraffes will swing their long necks at each other, but this only lasts for a couple minutes.
Some new and interesting things I have learned about giraffes are that they can moo, hiss, roar and whistle, also that female giraffes can get pregnant at five years old and give birth while standing up. I enjoyed writing this article very much.
